Klagenfurt
Klagenfurt is beautifully situated between the Wörthersee and the Karawanken. The capital of Carinthia is the main center of the Alpine Adriatic region and is known as a university town, garden town on Lake Wörthersee and recreation town. Stroll through the Old Town with historic courtyards and passages with numerous bars and boutiques. Well-known sights in Klagenfurt are the Lindwurmbrunnen and the monument to Hercules, the conqueror of the lindworm. The churches, castles and gates in the city are also worth a visit. Be sure to take a look at the markets in Klagenfurt where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Villach
In the Carinthian town of Villach, tradition and modern life meet. Untouched nature and a vibrant city life characterize the city and there is a rich history to discover. Experience the local culture and taste Carinthian culinary delicacies. Take lovely walks on the cobbled streets of the city center, soak up the Austrian atmosphere and admire the colourful, historic buildings.

Travel the world in just a few hours - made possible by Minimundus. Famous sights from more than 50 countries worldwide are shown here, their scale being 1:25 to the original size. 160 models in total have been handcrafted and give you the opportunity to travel from the Eiffel Tower to the Indonesian Borobudur Temple in just a few minutes. The indoor experience is momentarily closed. The opening hours can be found on the website.
Pyramidenkogel
On the 851 meter high top of the Pyramidenkogel, a 100 meter high watchtower towers above everything. Opened in 2013, the tower is the tallest wooden watchtower in the world with an impressive architecture. At the top there are two viewing platforms and a "skybox". Those who dare to take the lift to the platform are rewarded with a 360° panoramic view of Carinthia with its mountains and lakes. For adrenaline junkies: in addition to the elevator, you can also take the 120-meter long, closed slide down. At a speed of up to 25 km/h, the journey takes about 20 seconds.
Reptilienzoo Happ
Afraid of snakes? Then Reptile Zoo Happ in Klagenfurt is a real challenge! The park would like to break all prejudices against reptiles and especially snakes. In addition to 60 different species of snakes, lizards, turtles, and insects also live here. There is even a petting zoo with rabbits and guinea pigs. The zoo opens its doors every day, in the summer from 9am to 6pm and during the wintertime from 9am to 5pm. The reptile zoo is closed in November.
Hochosterwitz Castle
Follow in the footsteps of the knights in the medieval Hochosterwitz Castle. Climb up on foot and step through the castle's 14 gates or take the Fürst-Max-Bahn to the top. Explore the armory and Renaissance paintings in the castle, experience cultural events such as concerts or exhibitions, and then grab a bite in the restaurant where you can taste the traditional Carinthian cuisine. Zauberwald Rauschelesee
If you wander through the magical forest of Rauschelesee, you might just see witches, goblins, a giant spider or the floating dwarfs. On the banks of the Rauschelesee there is plenty for children to discover, such as a knight's castle, a forest theater and Noah's ark. All attractions are made of wood. Behind every tree there can be surprises and wooden shapes. Open between April and October.
Burg Landskron
The castle ruins of Landskron are located at an altitude of 660 meters and visiting them can be a nice outing for the whole family. In addition to the interesting history dating back to 1351, you will discover a gastronomic restaurant and a fun children's program with a puzzle rally. At castle ruins Landkron you can admire eagles during the impressive birds of prey show. The Affenberg, which is located next to the castle, is the largest open-air monkey enclosure in Austria with no fewer than 160 monkeys!
